DESCRIPTION

Study the chemical composition or physical principles of living cells and organisms, their electrical and mechanical energy, and related phenomena. May conduct research to further understanding of the complex chemical combinations and reactions involved in metabolism, reproduction, growth, and heredity. May determine the effects of foods, drugs, serums, hormones, and other substances on tissues and vital processes of living organisms. Flashlight on Microsoft Windows 11 Biochemists and Biophysicists are responsible for studying and researching various aspects of living organisms, often at a cellular level. In doing so, they may focus on a particular area such as growth, effects of foods or hormones, heredity, and reproduction. In this role, they use the findings of their research to aid in the development of new medicines. They also publish their findings in relevant journals and share them with the scientific community. A part of their job is to supervise and coordinate the activities of lab personnel who participate in the research projects or programs. They may also investigate the effects of genetic engineering on organisms and cells.
